15th Annual Cruisin in the Country Bike Ride
November 14, 2009. If you want to complete a century ride and never have, Cruisin’ in the Country is the choice a cyclist should make.
Hardly any other organized ride offers as many features as does the Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce’s Cruisin’ in the Country. The cyclists’ needs are the foundation of the Chamber’s commitment to this event. Our support services, large volunteer base, foundation of experience and great organization go to making Cruisin’ a success year after year. Our community takes great pride in extending the tradition of Southern hospitality to the thousands of cyclists who have participated and continue to return for “the best ride in Georgia” as Bicycling Magazine stated years ago.
Claxton and Evans County and our neighboring communities look forward to renewing old friendships with those cyclists who have visited in the past and extend a very special welcome to those cyclists who will be joining us for the first time.

Got something to say?
Anyone in Richmond Hill interested in doing Cruisinf in the Country. I hear the Savannah Century was a bust and may not be back much like the Tybee Marathon. Cruisin in the Country is suppose to be a nice event with a great setting for riding.
My 7-year old and I rode a road bike – trailer bike combo, and did the 30 miler. Great ride, beautiful sites (cotton fields, old rustic architecture, ponds and open fields) and very well-mapped out. No complaints, a great turnout, safe, and well worth the effort! I plan to do the 60 miler in 2010. Everyone I saw and met was friendly, and breathing hard (for some reason). Must have been the altitude.
