Historic Savannah Century
The Historic Savannah Century – A classic cycling experience in the Southeast’s most historic city is coming on Sept 5th and 6th, 2009! This is a two-day event with one ride on Saturday, Sept 5 and the “big” ride on Sunday, Sept 6. This year we have coordinated with Savannah Bicycle Campaign to add a fun benefit ride on Saturday evening.
The Saturday ride is 33 miles through farmland and other rural settings and has a remote start location. The Sunday ride takes you over the 200 ft tall Talmadge Bridge with a magnificent view of the city and Savannah River. Police escort is provided. This year’s Sunday ride starts at the historic restaurant and pub “The Distillery”. There are five ride distance options for the Sunday ride: 25, 37, 56, 69 and 103 miles.
Reserve the weekend on your calendar, or go ahead and register now! Active.com

2nd Annual Earth Day Wheelie
Savannah Wheelie is back with the second annual Earth Day Wheelie this Saturday April 18 at 3pm. Last year, this free event drew close to 300 — families, fixsters, roadies, treehuggers, aldermen, and commissioners. This year, we bring back the mobile party through Savannah’s downtown streets to celebrate the joy and possibilities of bicycling. Bring yourself, bring your friends, bring your kids — the Wheelie welcomes all! Read more
